HERB ALPERT will have another music school named after him after giving $15 million to the school of music at the California Institute of the Arts, which will be the HERB ALPERT SCHOOL OF MUSIC. In November. Alpert pledged $30 million to University of California at Los Angeles, which renamed its music department the UCLA HERB ALPERT SCHOOL OF MUSIC. Alpert, popular for his work in Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass, co-founded A&M Records, which was reportedly sold for upwards of $500 million in 1989.
