Chamber Music at La Jolla

La Jolla SUMMERFEST 2008 will stretch across the August calendar with mostly chambermusic performances, and will feature artists as celebrated as the TOKYO STRING QUARTET and as unfamiliar as the SONORA STRING QUARTET. Never heard of it? That's because it's a new group formed by Juilliard graduate students.

SummerFest artistic director and violinist CHO LIANG LIN hand-picked the Sonoras and an ad-hoc trio consisting of violinist ELENA URIOSTE, cellist ANI KALAYJIAN, and pianist Jeewon Kim as this year's fellowship musicians. They'll participate in open rehearsals and performances, and receive coaching from each of SummerFest's established professional artists.
