Dusting off the overlooked cello duets of Jacques Offenbach

ONE OF THE GREATEST PLEASURES of being a cellist is performing cello duets. The warm, conversational sound of two cellos, shared with a colleague, has enchanted me throughout my career. Unfortunately the cello duet is a genre that has inspired limited contributions from noteworthy composers. Therefore we are fortunate for the wealth of fine chamber music for multiple cellos by Jacques Offenbach.
