Silver Spring man to help implement ethical standards for kosher food products
Richard Lederman says he strongly believes in the "close connection" between Judaism's laws of ritual and of social justice. That's why he's excited to become the first professional staffer on the Conservative movement's Hekhsher Tzedek project.
As project manager for the effort to place a seal on kosher food signaling that the product is not only kosher according to Halacha, Jewish law, but also has been prepared in accordance with certain ethical standards, Lederman said he'll be helping to move Hekhsher Tzedek "to the next level."
