DoD and Veterans Affairs are making progress in improving the medical care of returning injured soldiers and military veterans. Defense secretary Robert M. Gates, Veterans Affairs secretary James B. Peake, Deputy Defense secretary Gordon R. England and Deputy Veterans Affairs secretary Gordon H. Mansfield have all been meeting weekly to watch the implementation and progress of recommendations made by several commissions.
