DoD, VA Leaders Map Way to Care of Wounded

DoD and VA departments are working together to solve problems of today's wounded warriors. Deputy Defense Secretary Gordon England told the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, the two departments are working to "...improve support of wounded, ill, and injured service members' recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration".
England co-chairs ajoint senior oversight committee designed to improve cooperation between the two departments. The committee grew out of a revelation last year that processes to care for wounded service members were still operating,-. as if we were at peace. Several panels and commissions said the two departments have to work closer together.
