Veterans Affair Secretary and AMSUS member Dr. James B. Peake laid out his priorities five months after taking the lead of the nation's second largest Cabinet department. Amongst the priorities discussed by Peake in a recent interview are providing a better transition of care, enabling more efficient claims processing, leveraging information technology and poising the department for the future.
Peake will guide the department in working more closely with other departments such as DoD to provide a smoother continuum of care for veterans leaving the military.
