Burlington Twp. gets started early in playoff win

Burlington Township scored in its first time at bat and led all the way in a 4-1 win at Audubon High School yesterday in a South Jersey Group 2 softball tournament game yesterday.

The Falcons, seeded ninth, added two runs in the second inning and one in the fourth to eliminate the eighth-seeded Green Wave. Burlin-gton Township (12-7) earned a quarterfinal date today at defending champion and No. 1 seed Sterling.

Winning pitcher Meghan Tansey had six strikeouts. Cady Piarulli had a double, single and one run batted in. Siedah Lemon also doubled.
