Andrews still AWOL
BETHLEHEM -- Shawn Andrews wants everybody to know he's not going to retire, and he still wants to play football.
"I'm trying to shoot for the Hall of Fame, why would I do that?" Andrews said Friday night via text message. "My journey is just rough right now."
Andrews, the Eagles' two-time Pro Bowl guard, declined to go into details about the personal issues that have kept him out of training camp, and declined to say when or if he plans to report to Lehigh University. Andrews has missed the first two days of camp with what head coach Andy Reid said is an unexcused absence. He faces daily $15,000 fines from the Eagles and can also lose a portion of his signing bonus.
