t is, of course, a classic of American musical theater.

"My Fair Lady" stands tall among the 20th century's most celebrated works, and when it debuted on Broadway in 1956, it set a new record: it ran longer than any major theatrical production in history before 1956.

So it's no surprise that the show is back, being warmly welcomed on a national tour that stops in Philadelphia from Tuesday to March 16 at the Aca-demy of Music. The elegant venue seems a perfect backdrop for the tale of the little flower seller and her transformation into a lady. The original show actually had its previews at Philadelphia's Erlanger The-atre before its Broadway opening.
