WHEN MIKE AND JUANITA EAGLE PURCHASED A SMALL HOPI DOLL while on vacation nearly 30 years ago, they never imagined they had taken the first step to becoming passionate collectors of Native American art. Today the California couple has amassed a dazzling array of works in a home custom-built for their collection of kachinas, pots, paintings, and sculptures. The Eagles, who focus their magnificent obsession on contemporary artists, say one of their greatest pleasures has been watching the talents of artists like Tony Abeyta grow and flourish.
