Nearly $3 million donated to aviation training program

The Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technology (SIIT) received a large donation from some of the leading global aerospace and defence companies.
Lockheed Martin contributed $1.5 million, Boeing contributed $750,000 U.S and Rockwell Collins invested $500.000 U.S into SIIT.
The nearly $3 million US donation will go towards the development of a two-year aerospace maintenance engineering diploma program offered at SIIT and the founding of a high school aircraft maintenance prep program at Mount Royal High School which is expected to commence by fall 2009.
