What's next after apology?

On June 11, Prime Minister Stephen Harper delivered a historic apology on behalf of the Canadian government.

He admitted that past governments were wrong for taking Aboriginal children out of their homes and forcing them to attend church-operated residential schools.

While Aboriginal events were held across Saskatchewan to witness the apology, in Saskatoon a large group gathered at the White Buffalo Youth Lodge to watch the apology on a large screen.

At the event was Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations Vice-Chief Lyle Whitefish who said Harper's words were welcomed by many people, including himself.
