WASHINGTON, Aug. 2 -- Sen. Blanche Lincoln, D-Arkansas, has introduced the Increased Student Achievement Through Increased Student Support Act (S. 3364), legislation that would "increase the recruitment and retention of school counselors, school social workers, and school psychologists by low-income local educational agencies."
The bill, introduced on July 30, was co-sponsored by Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-New York; Robert Menendez, D-New Jersey; and Thad Cochran, R-Mississippi. It was referred to the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee.
