The city of Cedar Rapids issued the following news release:
Ever wonder what it's like to be a police officer? The Cedar Rapids Police Department will answer that question and many others while you attend the Citizens Police Academy (CPA). The CPA will begin their fall classes Wednesday, September 10. The CPA meet every Wednesday, from 6:00-9:00 PM with an additional Saturday class. The program is directed toward citizens who live or work in Linn County. The goal of the program is not to train citizens to be police officers, but to increase the understanding between citizens and the Police Department.
