Rep. Tom Udall, D-N.M. (3rd CD), issued the following news release:
U.S. Representative Tom Udall, D-N.M., today wrote to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi requesting additional funds for U.S. Forest Service fire suppression efforts. Forest Service fire suppression funds are expected to run out by the end of this week. The Forest Service will then have to transfer funds from other accounts. In anticipation, the Service has stopped new contracts and travel, and it may be forced to terminate some personnel.
