Over the past few weeks, the federal government has announced it will help twin two very dangerous stretches of the Trans-Canada Highway.

Not only did Prime Minister Stephen Harper pledge $100 million this week to widen the Trans-Canada through Banff National Park, but last month, his government said it would put up some cash for the initial planning that will be used to twin Highways 11 and 17 through northwestern Ontario.
