The city of Cedar Rapids issued the following news release:

The City of Cedar Rapids recognizes the large housing shortage resulting from the June flooding disaster. To help provide some temporary housing relief in an efficient and safe manner, while still ensuring long-term control, the City Council has agreed to allow recreational vehicles on private property through November 15, 2008. The information on this decision was released to the media on August 1st 2008 titled "Recreational Vehicles Allowed on Private Property".

A Temporary Use Permit is required to use a recreational vehicle on private property, but there is no fee for this permit. A permit will not be issued unless the property ...
