Article: Japanese Inventors Develop Golf Ball Assembly

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 13 -- Keiji Ohama, Kazuhiko Isogawa and Kazuya Kamino, all from Kobe, Japan, have developed a golf ball.

According to a description of the invention, released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to golf balls having a core, a cover and dimples."

The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,390,273 on June 24.
