New Delhi, Aug. 15 -- Philippine has opened a bank in its capital of Metro Manila - for depositing and withdrawing breast milk.
The country's first community milk bank - meant to help sick newborn babies who are too weak to suck breasts or mothers who can't immediately breastfeed their children - was opened on Aug 15.
On the bank's opening day, around 200 mothers donated at least five ounces of breast milk at Guadalupe Nuevo Barangay Hall in the capital, reports Xinhua.
The breast milk was collected using a manual breast pump for at least 15 minutes per donator.
