Article: TROPICAL STORM FAY FORMS ALONG EASTERN COAST OF HISPANIOLA

The Florida Division of Emergency Management issued the following news release:

Tropical Storm Fay has formed along the Eastern coast of the Dominican Republic. As of 5 p.m. Friday, the center of Tropical Storm Fay was located near latitude 18.5 north and longitude 69.4 west or about 35 miles to the east of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. This position is also located about 920 miles to the east-southeast of Key West. Tropical Storm Fay is moving westward at 14 mph, with maximum sustained winds near 40 mph.
