In challenging housing markets, home sellers may turn to different or unusual ways to help ensure the sale of their property, including offering a free car, airline tickets, vacation or similar incentives to prospective buyers. Others may take steps to improve the curb appeal of a home, or retain the services of a feng shui expert to enhance the energy flow in a house in order to increase its marketability.

To help make sure their prayers for a quick sale come true, some' sellers (and their real state agents) even bury a statue of St. Joseph (sometimes called the patron saint of real estate) in the front lawn of a listed home.
