Grant Boosts Dance in Schools

NEA grant helps bring dance to more Chicago-area elementary school students.

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago has received a $75,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to expand its dance education program daring the 2008-09 academic year. Thanks to the grant, HSDC teaching artists will work in six elementary schools (up from five last year) in Oak Park District 97, bringing dance to roughly 800 students and teachers.
