Jamaicans in Brampton to celebrate Independence

JAMAICANS IN the City of Brampton, one of Canada's fastest growing cities, will celebrate Jamaica's 46th anniversary of Independence on Wednesday, August 6 at 10a.m. This is the first time that a flag-raising ceremony marking the country's independence will be held at the Brampton City Hall.

Jamaican-Canadian staff at The Corporation of The City of Brampton are instrumental in organising the ceremony which will also include an exhibition on Jamaica and cake cutting in the City Hall atrium. Mayor Susan Fennell is expected to be in attendance.
