Gov. Jim Doyle, D-Wis., issued the following news release:

Governor Jim Doyle today announced all freeway lanes and ramps on the Marquette Interchange are open, months earlier than scheduled and under budget. Governor Doyle kicked off construction of the Marquette Interchange in October 2004. The Marquette Interchange project is the largest transportation construction project in state history.

"In October 2004, I announced that we were going to embark on the largest transportation construction project in our state's history," Governor Doyle said. "Today, I am pleased to announce, we have accomplished our goal. And here's what makes me most proud - we got it done early and under budget."
