Article: Wisconsin Public Service to Conduct a Drawdown of Grand Rapids Reservoir

Wisconsin Public Service issued the following news release:

As part of its ongoing commitment to safety and the maintenance of its hydroelectric facilities, Wisconsin Public Service will draw down the Grand Rapids Hydro for concrete repairs at and below the normal water line.

The drawdown is scheduled to begin Tuesday, September 2, at a maximum rate of six inches per day, reducing water levels by no more than six feet. Once the water levels are lowered in the reservoir, work will begin to repair damaged concrete on the bridge that crosses the power canal and the piers around the tainter gates.
