Article: TROPICAL STORM FAY MAKES LANDFALL NEAR CAPE ROMANO

The Florida Division of Emergency Management issued the following news release:

Tropical Storm Fay has made landfall in Collier County near Cape Romano, Florida this morning. Tropical Storm Fay is moving to the north-northeast at 9 mph, with maximum sustained winds near 60 mph. State officials are urging residents and visitors to remain alert for flooding conditions and possible tornadoes as this system moves through the peninsula over the next several days. Most of south and central Florida remain under a tornado watch through 4 PM Tuesday.
