The city of Austin issued the following press release:

The Commute Solutions Coalition of Central Texas is sponsoring its annual Commute Solutions Month, with activities and contests scheduled throughout September. Join the Commute Solutions partners at a Kick-off on Friday, September 5 at Republic Square, 4th and Guadalupe. Come listen to the Austin Home Grown Band, get your UT Longhorn energy going with the UT cheerleaders, have lunch and find out about commuting options. Festivities begin at 11:00 and go on until 1:00 p.m.

The Weirdest Commute Contest will also be held at the Kickoff. Commuters are invited to get creative with their commute. It only needs to run for one block. Judging ...
