A 34-year-old woman developed ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) and carotid thrombosis, after receiving gonadotropin releasing hormone agonists, menotropin and chorionic gonadotropin.
Infertile for 5 years, the woman underwent one standard cycle of ovarian stimulation with gonadotropin releasing hormone agonists and menotropin, and ovulation induction with chorionic gonadotropin [dosages not stated]. Seventy-two hours after having three embryos transferred to her uterus, she reported acute loss of vision in her left eye [time to reaction onset not stated].
