The government of United Kingdom's Ministry of Defence issued the following news release:
The Armed Forces Parachute Championships were a chance for 36 teams of Service personnel to display their skydiving talents in the air at the Joint Services Parachute Centre at Netheravon on Salisbury Plain between 15 - 22 August 2008.
The Championships were open to both serving and reserve members of the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force, and with plenty of friendly rivalry the competitors participated in various skydiving events covering numerous event disciplines including Formation Skydiving, Free Flying, Accuracy Jump and Canopy Flying.
