The University of Tennessee issued the following news release:
September is National Campus Safety Awareness Month, and next week is UT Campus Safety Awareness Week.
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is hosting two events on campus to help promote safety among students, faculty and staff next week.
UT Knoxville was chosen by the national nonprofit organization Security On Campus Inc. as one of several sites around the country to kick off the month. Security On Campus Inc. aims to prevent violence, substance abuse and other crimes on college and university campuses.
