KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY PROGRAM TO HELP DEVELOP THE NEXT GENERATION OF URBAN LEADERS

Kansas State University issued the following news release:

Five freshmen are recipients of the first Edgerley-Franklin Urban Leadership Scholarships through Kansas State University's new Urban Leadership Scholars Program.

The program aims to give students the knowledge and vision to bring new solutions to America's most crucial urban needs, said Anita Cortez, administrative director of K-State's Developing Scholars Program.

The Urban Scholars were selected for their strong grade point averages in high school and for exemplified outstanding community service in their urban neighborhoods, Cortez said. Their $3,000 scholarships are renewable for up to four years by retaining a K-State grade ...
