Article: WIPO: Inventors in Germany Develop Weight Measurement Method

GENEVA, Sept. 5 - Fritz Ehmke of Modautal, Germany, and Udo Esswein of Dieburg, Germany, have developed a method for measuring the weight.

According to an abstract posted by the World Intellectual Property Organization, the invention relates to a "method for measuring the weight of an especially pourable payload suspended on a cable, wherein the cable is guided over a head of a pivotable jib of a revolving tower crane fixed at least temporarily to the ground and is secured to the revolving tower crane."

The invention carries International Patent Publication No. WO/2008/101717 on Aug. 28.
