THE SLIDE: A Novel in Progress

In James Wright's office was a gallery of criminals. Photographs and articles about the men pictured in the photographs were scattered all over in small stacks. Some were on both chairs facing his desk; Some were on the green leather couch, on the coffee table, the floor, and, of course, there were stacks covering his desk. Even his prized model of the USS Sylvania, his old navy ship, was partially covered. This, in itself, was unusual because he'd gone to the ends of the earth to find that kit; companies didn't make many models of decommissioned supply ships.
