Article: French Inventor Develops Vehicle Mounted Weapon System

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 9 -- Patrick Balbo of Bourges, France, has developed a weapon system mounted on vehicle.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A weapon system incorporating a cannon mounted in a cradle and intended to be carried on a vehicle wherein the cradle is integral with a plate able to be positioned on the ground by the vehicle using a maneuvering arm, the cannon being able to fire from the plate positioned on the ground."

The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,418,897 on Sept. 2.

The patent has been assigned to Giat Industries, Versailles, France.
