Article: COLONEL DOHERTY ANNOUNCES PROMOTIONS, NEW ASSIGNMENTS FOR RHODE ISLAND STATE POLICE, RHODE ISLAND DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY

Rhode Island State Police issued the following news release:

Colonel Brendan P. Doherty, Superintendent, of the Rhode Island State Police and Commissioner/Director of Public Safety, announces the following classification/rank title changes and promotions. This is due to the legislation that recently passed creating the Rhode Island Department of Public Safety. These changes are effective Friday, September 5, 2008.

Rhode Island Department of Public Safety Positions:

Colonel Brendan P. Doherty, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police will continue as the Superintendent and will also assume the responsibilities of Commissioner/Director of the Rhode Island Department of Public Safety.
