Article: PERRY COUNTY RECEIVES $2 MILLION FOR INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS

The office of Sen. Richard G. Lugar, R-Ind., issued the following news release:

U.S. Sen. Dick Lugar was notified today that the Economic Development Administration (EDA) will invest $2 million for rail and bridge improvements in Tell City and Perry County, Indiana.

The anticipated impact and outcome of the investment is estimated to create 200 jobs and generate $64 million in private investment. The total project cost is estimated at $5,012,665.

This funding will be used to construct railway improvements, including three new bridges and railroad modernizations on Perry County railways. The railways need updating to current specifications to meet the needs of businesses and promote ...
