Article: Lactobacillus GG prevents diarrhoea in kids

Administration of Lactobacillus rhamnosus strain GG effectively reduces the risk of any diarrhoea in children undergoing antibacterial therapy for common infectious diseases, shows a study conducted in Poland.

A total of 240 children (aged 3 months to 14 years) with common infections* were randomly assigned to receive Lactobacillus CC (n = 120) or placebo taken orally twice daily for the duration of oral or IV antibacterial therapy.
