The Colorado Department of Natural Resources' State Parks Division issued the following press release:

Rush to the Gold this fall to view the best colors of the season at Colorado State Parks. With 42 parks throughout the state, a scenic drive is within a day's reach for all Coloradans.

Plan a day trip or weekend to take a leisurely drive or stroll while the Colorado forests are ablaze with shimmering golden aspens. The peak colors typically begin in mid September for state parks at higher elevation, while those lower level parks will show their colors closer to the end of the month.
