The Massachusetts Executive Office for Administration & Finance's Department of Revenue issued the following news release:
The federal government's economic stimulus program has proven to be a shot in the arm for child support collections in Massachusetts and helped push collections past the FY08 goal of $550 million.Since the IRS began mailing checks in the spring, the state Department of Revenue's Child Support Enforcement Division has collected $10.8 million from intercepted federal stimulus checks mailed to more than 19,000 non-custodial parents who were delinquent in paying child support.
