Article: Anti-Ganga Expressway stir assumes religious tone

NEW DELHI, India, Sept. 11 -- MOVES ARE afoot to give religious colour to the movement launched by political parties and social organisations against the multi-crore Ganga Expressway project.

Ganga Raksha Manch constituted by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad to launch a nation-wide movement to protect the Ganga had decided to seek the assistance of sadhus and saints. Along with yoga guru Baba Ramdev, religious exponents including Asha Ram Bapu, Murari Bapu, Sri Sri Ravishankar and Ramesh Ojha, will join the sadhus in the movement to make the Ganga pollution-free.
