I would like to comment in response to the letter from Sylvia Mills of Unite/CPHVA Oldham Branch, tided 'Standing up to the NMC' in the August edition of Community Practitioner.

The Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence (CHRE)'s expanded performance review of the NMC found no evidence to support allegations of racism at the NMC, or allegations that money had been misspent. We have never been formally approached by Jim Devine MP with any evidence to support the allegations he has made under parliamentary privilege, and we repeatedly invited Mr Devine to meet with us to gain first-hand experience of the NMC, its staff and the important work we do to safeguard the health and wellbeing ...
