45 Years Ago: A. Philip Randolph's 1963 March on Washington

Forty-five years ago on August 28, 1963, 250,000 African Americans descended on Washington, D.C., to protest the slow pace at which the nation was moving toward racial equality. More than 2,000 busloads of people, including dozens of buses from historically black colleges and universities, traveled to the capital to join the demonstration.
