Article: German Inventors Develop Propylene Production Method

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- Hermann Bach of Heiligenroth, Germany, Harald Kompel of Neu-Isenburg, Germany, Bernd Ahlers of Frankfurt am Main, Germany, Peter Trabold of Darmstadt, Germany, and Frank Hoper of Karben, Germany, have developed a method for producing a hydrocarbon mixture propylene.

According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In a method for the production of propylene, a charge stream containing Carbon (C).sub.4 to C.sub.6 olefins is evaporated, superheated, mixed with hot water vapor, the olefins vapor mixture converted on a zeolite catalyst, the reaction mixture formed thereby cooled, and then partially condensed.
