Massachusetts, Ohio Inventors Develop Viewpoints Optimal Set Determining Method

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 19 -- Baback Moghaddam of Cambridge, Mass., Hanspeter Pfister of Arlington, Mass., and Jinho Lee of Columbus, Ohio, has developed a viewpoints optimal set determining system.

According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method determines an optimal set of viewpoints to acquire a three dimensional (3D) shape of a face. A view-sphere is tessellated with a plurality of viewpoint cells. The face is at an approximate center of the view-sphere. Selected viewpoint cells are discarded.
