ACTION CITY DRAGWAY USA, Terre Haute, Ind. (Aug. 9) - The track held its latest points event and had new faces in the winner's circle.
Steve Donnan earned Super Pro honors for the first time this season by defeating the dragster of Tommy Smith, who red-lighted. Donnan, in his '62 Nova, cut a .002 light and ran a dead-on 6.99. Lance Stillwell was the semifinalist.
First-time winner Gary Hoggatt, in his '67 Camaro, beat Ron Seals' '69 Camaro in the Pro final. Hoggatt ran a 7.05 on a 7.04 dial. Seals broke out with a 6.86 on a 6.87 dial. Rick Seals was the semifinalist.
In the Sportsman final, Chad Eaton's '85 Monte Carlo ran a 7.60 (7.59 dial) to stop the '70 Nova of Jeff Lathrop, who posted ...
