Control of electrocardiogram acquisition errors: A brief perspective

Electrocardiogram (ECG) acquisition errors have recently received increasing attention among electrocardiographers, ECG technicians, and the manufacturers of ECG equipment. The awareness of the fact that some of these errors may result in false ECG interpretation has prompted the introduction of a variety of procedures and devices to improve the accuracy of electrode placement and various methods and criteria for detection of electrode cable connection errors.
