Article: Sen. Baucus Introduces Energy Independence and Investment Act

WASHINGTON, Sept. 22 -- Sen. Max Baucus, D-Montana, has introduced the Energy Independence and Investment Act of 2008 (S. 3478), legislation that would "amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide incentives for the production of energy, to provide transportation and domestic fuel security, and to provide incentives for energy conservation and energy efficiency."

The bill, introduced on Sept. 11, was co-sponsored by Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa. It was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
