The United States Pharmacopeial Convention issued the following news release:

The U.S. Pharmacopeial (USP) Convention is pleased to announce that Karen A. Russo, Ph.D., and Linda M. Guard have been named vice presidents in USP's Documentary Standards Division. Led by Darrell Abernethy, M.D., Ph.D., USP chief science officer, the division creates and maintains science-based public standards for prescription and over-the-counter medications, dietary supplements and food ingredients. These standards improve the health of people around the world by helping to ensure the quality, safety and benefit of medicines and foods.
