Article: ALL CAPITAL DISTRICT UNINSURED CHILDREN NOW HAVE ACCESS TO HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE

The New York State Department of Health issued the following news release:

Nearly 10,000 children in the Capital District lack health insurance, restricting their access to regular preventive screenings and other health care needed to help them grow up healthy.

As a result of legislation approved by Governor David A. Paterson and the State Legislature, effective this month children in families with annual incomes up to $70,000 for a family of three ($84,000 for family of four) are eligible to obtain subsidized coverage under New York's Child Health Plus insurance program.
